Nena Mitrovic is the Principal of St. Sava Sunday Serbian School. She joined the school in January 2008, after being impressed by our X-mass school program. Nena came just for the X-mass celebration, and our school performance. That touched her emotions so deeply that she had to join our teacher corp. She taught students ages 10-14 Serbian History in the beginning, and then Serbian Language and Literature . Nena graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Geography from the University of Belgrade. She worked as a high school teacher in Krusevac, her hometown, and in Belgrade , where she lived before she came to the USA.
Her hobby is photography and she has had several exhibitions in the Bay Area. She was awarded for her outstanding work in photography several times. Nena's goal as a principal is to make our school place where kids love to come.
Boba Miladinovic has been our teacher for last 7 years. She loves to teach and train students. Boba has extensive corporate training and coaching experience in database and financial management. She enjoys traveling, reading, dancing, music, and sports (skating, aerobic, hiking) . She used to work with disabled people what gave her patience and understanding other people needs.This school year Boba works as a coordinator for our school events.
Jelena Pesic is a professional elementary school teacher. She graduated with teaching credentials at the Pedagogic Academy in Negotin, Serbia. She has 10 years of combined international teaching experience. She loves to work with children; currently she is working on her Early Childhood Education Certification. Jelena leads our events planning and poetry recitation section.
Bisera Rakicevic-More graduated with MBA in International Management from MIIS. She has over 18 years of professional business experience in program management, business development and marketing working in educational and high-tech industries both in Europe and in the United States. Her interests are teaching, parenting, foreign languages, traveling, piano playing and reading. In our school she is teching Serbian language and literature.
Radomirka Beba Petrovic Last 5 years she is a teacher for "Butterfly" group and choreographer in our school. Beba was born in Sarajevo but from 1992-1998 she used to live in Hamburg, Germany where she studied their language.After that she moved to Campbell, CA where she own her kindergarten. Beba enjoys her time with kids . She likes traveling, music and dance.For her is very important to preserve our culture, religion and language. She wants all of us to participate in education of our kids.
Vladimir Licina is an all around great artist, a piano player, writer, and a painter. In 1994 he graduated at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, department of music art. In the same year with the blessing of Bishop Dr Sava (Šumadija diocese) he came to the States starting he’s study of theology in the Theological faculty of Saint Sava. With the blessing of the same bishop he moved from Chicago to New York and in 1999 he received his masters degree at St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary.At around 2002 he was singing several seasons for San Francisco War Memorial Opera House, and at 2004 he was a part of the Bracebridge Dinner by Andrea Fulton production. Vladimir is the author of two novels Osmi dan (The Eight day) and Druga smrt (The Second Death) both published 2003 in Belgrade. He was also publishing numerous numbers of poems in literary news-papers Književne Novine, Literary magazines, and Periodical for literature and culture – Nova Zora. He shares solitude with mosaics. Vladimir is our religion teacher.
Sanja Kolarevic Pesich was born in Nis, Serbia, where she completed a B.A. in English Language and Literature at the University of Nis. She spent eight years teaching ESL to various language groups, ranging from five to sixty-five years. Sanja started a language school, The Friends Language School in 2000. The school employed English, Italian, and French language teachers. After she moved to the USA in 2003, she spent a couple of years in the financial industry and banking. She completed an M.B.A. at SCU specializing in Marketing in the spring of 2010.
Dragoslav Grbovic was born in Belgrade in 1979. He finished elementary school in Zemun and electrical engineering high school "Nikola Tesla" in Belgrade. He graduated with B.S. in physics from Ramapo College of New Jersey and went on to obtain a Ph.D. in applied physics from the University of Tennessee. He is now a faculty at Physics Department of Naval Postgraduate School. Dragoslav works in our school as a religion instructor. |
