Faith & Heritage class
Younger group: 5-8 y
Older group: 9-12 y
A blend of study of the Serbian Orthodox Faith, our heritage, history, geography, traditions and culture. Classes will primarily be held in English with small segments in Serbian language.
The goal is for all children (regardless of their knowledge of the Serbian language) to be introduced to our roots and to get the basic knowledge of our heritage and faith.
Classes will be fun, with lots of hands-on learning, workshops, art, songs and stories!
Folklore Class
Age 5-12 y
In this class, children will be introduced to our traditions and culture through learning our folklore dance and our traditional songs.
Children will have an opportunity to perform a few times during the school year.
Traditionally, the last class of the year will be an ethno themed workshop.
Serbian Language
Younger group: 5-9 y
Older group: 10+ y
This class is for students wishing to have a comprehensive introduction to Serbian reading, writing, and conversation. Teachers follow a curriculum specifically designed for students from the diaspora wishing to learn and practice their Serbian. The curriculum used is written by AZBUKUM Centre for Serbian Language and Culture in Novi Sad, Serbia.
